Are you used to the concern of strangers?
Obviously, I wasn't at first. Whenever a stranger entered my space, I would become extremely wary.
Some say that only those who lack security are so vigilant, and I can readily admit that I lack security myself. But equally, it's true that one should always be cautious, isn't it?
You can't coldly reject someone's well-intentioned concern; at least, I can't. In the world, even two friends go from strangers to acquaintances; no one can truly isolate themselves from the world. Although I'm used to being alone, I can't go to a quiet place and never interact with anyone. Strangers are strangers because you don't know them, and they don't know you; there's a vast distance between you. I think that as long as you bridge that distance, and the other person's concern is well-intentioned, you shouldn't be considered strangers anymore!
I used to be taciturn and socially awkward; I was incredibly introverted. I always avoided strangers, even if I knew they meant me no harm. I rarely wrote in my diary because I felt it was unnecessary; I preferred to keep everything bottled up inside. But as I grew older, I realized that it's important to make friends and interact with the outside world. This enriches your social experience and qualifications.
Are you used to the concern of strangers?
Since my old illness came on, since it forced me to take a break from school, since I received call after call from the hospital, I think what I wasn't used to will eventually become a habit…
