Thoughts of left-behind children

From spending these past few days with the students, I've learned that most of them are left-behind children, their parents working away from home, living with their grandparents. Thinking about it, we are still very fortunate; our parents are able to be by our side, accompanying us as we grow up.

These left-behind children don't see their parents for years at a time, and the distorted growth they experience in an environment lacking paternal and maternal love is alarming. I believe that to ensure left-behind children can focus on their studies and their parents can have peace of mind, we should do the following:

  1. Closely monitor the children and increase emotional investment. The school is the second home for left-behind children, and teachers are their fully responsible "parents." Schools and teachers should closely monitor the learning, living conditions, and ideological changes of left-behind children.

  2. Provide left-behind children with academic tutoring, ideological education, and life services. We should provide meticulous care in their studies, and more importantly, consistently emphasize the cultivation of their behavioral norms, enabling them to frequently receive praise from teachers and complete their primary school studies with excellent grades; during breaks, we should care for the left-behind children, often chatting and playing games with them to understand their specific situations, thus fostering their closeness and trust in teachers.

Caring for and supporting left-behind children is not just the responsibility of schools; it should be a shared responsibility of the entire society. In short, creating a positive educational environment for left-behind children is the inescapable responsibility and obligation of schools, families, and society. We should raise awareness, coordinate our efforts, and make positive contributions to ensure that left-behind children enjoy the same sky and receive the same care as all other children, and that quality education is implemented for every child.
